Our founder Ray Felton built a Murfreesboro machine shop into the organization now known as Metal Tech. Mr. Felton always viewed Metal Tech’s Safety Program as our greatest accomplishment. We do everything in our power, including weekly staff planning meetings, to prevent accidents in the workplace.
For many years, Metal Tech has been among the select few businesses consistently recognized as a Safety STAR Site by the North Carolina Department of Labor. From their first day of employment, every team member learns the importance of safety on the job. Metal Tech does many things well and has earned many achievements over the years, but Safety is our highest priority.

Metal Tech has grown to become a large company, but we’ve never forgotten our roots. For much of our history, Metal Tech was family-owned and operated. Even now as a larger organization, every hire we make and every team member we add represents our extended family and our promise for the future.

With $500,000 worth of metal inventory in stock, Metal Tech can move quickly to design and manufacture any job. With our ample space, Metal Tech can even store and schedule delivery to our clients.

Metal Tech got its start working with the paper and steel industries – where shutdowns are precisely timed, and maintenance and repairs must be completed efficiently and on schedule. We’ve always placed a priority on doing great work – in the shop or on-site.
With over 50 well-outfitted trucks, Metal Tech has the right team and the right tools for field services of all types. Product assembly, custom parts fabrication & installation, repairs and replacements are all part of the work we do. In addition to our equipped truck fleet, Metal Tech has multiple cranes and boom trucks to handle rigging projects of up to 60 tons.

Our 24-hour emergency service includes a 1-hour “leaving the shop” time (depending on what tools/supplies are needed). From our location in Murfreesboro, Metal Tech is able to service customers in eastern North Carolina and southeast Virginia in a short amount of time. Our close access to I-95, makes it possible to reach businesses throughout the mid-Atlantic region within hours. Metal Tech understands the sense of urgency and moves as quickly as possible to serve our customers in their greatest times of need.
